Rola-pipas (ramps)

Ramps carved out of volcanic rocks to make it easier for the wine barrels to glide from the pathway to the small natural harbors. From there, they were transported by boat to the island of Faial.
The rola-pipas are an integral part of the landscape of the Criação Velha vineyard and another important testimony to its winemaking activity.
