Igreja de Nossa Senhora das Dores (Church of Our Lady of Sorrows)

With an admirable panoramic view, the parish church of Criação Velha, dating from 1728, sits at the top of an avenue that begins next to the Regional Road and ends at the grand staircase that precedes its main façade.
The feast in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows is celebrated annually between late August and early September. The church celebrates Our Lady of Sorrows on September 15; however, the feast has been moved forward due to the parish's strong wine-growing component not to coincide with the grape harvest season.
